Ultimate Football Challenge
The Ultimate Football Challenge at Golden Nugget is a college and professional football handicapping contest. There are other football handicapping contests in Las Vegas but this is unique in that it is the only individual contest that lets players select from both pro and college in Nevada.
(PRESS RELEASE) - Get ready to score a touchdown at Golden Nugget Las Vegas with the return of the Ultimate Football Challenge at the Race and Sports Book. With some of the highest payouts in the city, Golden Nugget - Las Vegas is the ultimate destination for fans to place bets all season long with registration starting Tuesday, 3 March 2020. The Ultimate Football Challenge is won by accumulating as many points as possible during the 17 weeks of the college and pro football seasons. Contestants will earn one (1) point for each correct selection, one half (.5) point for each push. Incorrect selections will receive zero (0) points.
The entry fee is $1,000 with a limit of three entries per person. Contestants pick sides for seven college and pro football games against a static point spread. One major change from previous years is that the Golden Nugget no longer allows contestants to select over/under totals for the games.
The Ultimate Football Challenge pays the Top 20 finishers 97% of the total entry fees collected by Golden Nugget. The sportsbook keeps 3% of each entry fee ($30) to cover administration costs.

Playing the Ultimate Football Challenge
The Ultimate Football Challenge is won by accumulating as many points as possible during the 17 weeks of the college and pro football seasons. Contestants will earn one (1) point for each correct selection, one half (.5) point for each push. Incorrect selections will receive zero (0) points.
Each participant may have up to three (3) entries for the Ultimate Football Challenge. Each entry may not have selections on opposite sides of an individual game. However, contestants may select opposite sides on different entries.
The Golden Nugget will post point spreads each week on Wednesday at 2 pm. Contestants must submit their seven (7) weekly college and pro football selections by 10 pm each Friday. Late submissions will not be counted and the participant will receive zero (0) points for the week.
Weekly picks are locked in as soon as the contestant leaves the wagering counter with a printed ticket showing their selections. All games for the Ultimate Football Challenge must be played within one (1) day of original game date. If the game isn’t played within one (1) day, the contestant will get zero (0) points for that selection.
Ultimate Football Challenge Prize Pool

The Golden Nugget structures the Ultimate Football Challenge prize pool as follows:
- 1st place: 40%
- 2nd place: 20%
- 3rd place: 10%
- 4th and 5th place: 7% each
- 6th and 7th place: 5% each
- 8th through 10th place: 2% each
