Online Gambling Nc
North Carolina has no proper, regulated online casino sites. Consequently, most of the local online casino enthusiasts play on offshore sites that accept American players. Those sites tend to offer better bonuses and games than their US-licensed counterparts that operate on the fenced intrastate markets.

The NC Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) is a division of the NC Department of Public Safety. ALE is the lead enforcement agency for the state's alcoholic beverage control laws. ALE also enforces controlled substance, tobacco, lottery and gambling laws, as well the bingo program. North Carolina has no laws that deal with online gambling. The state’s gambling laws do state that it is illegal for players to wager on chance-based games unless they are regulated by the state and offered at state-licensed premises.
North Carolina betting apps are not yet a reality, but we’re likely to see mobile sports wagering become legal in the Tar Heel state. We’ve put together this overview of North Carolina online sports betting so you can get ready to place your bets as soon as it’s legal.

Sports Betting Sites in North Carolina - What’s Legal?
North Carolina, like many states, eagerly put together sports wagering bills after the overturning of PASPA in May 2018. That bill, S 154, was signed into law early in the summer of 2019, and it allows for sports betting to take place in-person at two locations in NC thus far.
There are a few bureaucratic and legal issues that are in the way of NC online betting. First of all, there is an ongoing discussion in the NC legislature to establish a 9-person gaming commission and completely redefine the structure of North Carolina gambling.
Secondly, there will be studies conducted by said gaming commission on the feasibility of expanding sports betting in the state-- this includes North Carolina online sports betting. That report is due on or before February 15, 2020. We may have to wait, but any delays might be money left on the table.

As it stands, there are no NC betting apps available or online casinos. However, it is interesting to note that the only two casinos offering in-person NC sports betting are Harrah’s properties-- Harrah’s Cherokee and Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River. Here’s why that’s relevant to the future of NC sports betting online:
Earlier in the summer of 2019, Eldorado Resorts purchased Caesars Entertainment Corp. for about $17.3 billion dollars, including assets, debts, etc. Eldorado (which will rebrand as Caesars) is poised to become the largest gambling corporation in the country, and with that, we expect to see a massive expansion of their properties.
What is relevant to North Carolina online sports betting is that Eldorado is a shareholder of about 20% of William Hill, one of the largest sportsbooks in the country with locations nationwide and online sports betting in several states.Harrah’s is under the Caesars umbrella, so this merger may very well bring legal NC sports betting to your smartphone or computer.
Betting Apps in North Carolina
Once we see NC online sports betting go fully legal, you’re going to want to get an NC betting app on your smartphone or device. Harrah’s and Caesars properties both have fully-fledged online gambling apps in other states, so it’s no big leap for the operator to provide North Carolinians with a decent smartphone app.
Still, NC betting apps aren’t technically legal yet, so you’ll have to wait. When apps do finally release, it’s a snap to get them on your smartphone. Users on iOS devices can simply navigate to the app store and search for the app of their choice.
If you’re on an Android device, you’ll have to go to your preferred operator’s website and download the APK file to install the app. Make sure to “Allow downloads from unknown sources” to continue.

NC sports betting is legal but not really live yet-- the two Harrah’s locations in North Carolina expect to have their sportsbooks, called “The Book”, to be ready by fall 2019.
Soon, you’ll be able to head on over to one of the two locations offering legal sports betting in NC and start betting on your favorite sports! If we take a look at other Caesar’s properties, we’ll see that a large variety of sports are available, including college and professional basketball and football, MLB baseball, auto racing, MMA, and more!

Type of Bets
Caesars properties are the only ones with a sportsbook that will release this year, and if we take a look at what Caesars is doing in other states, it appears that a wide variety of bets will be available. Standard bets like moneyline and over/under bets are available at Caesars online sportsbook in Vegas.
In addition, Caesars locations in other states let you make proposition bets, parlays, futures, and teasers. When North Carolina online sports betting is a reality, expect a full menu of bets to choose from.

In addition to the college games, you’ll have no trouble betting on the Superbowl, the World Series, and more of your favorite sporting events no matter the season. Once NC betting apps are live and thriving, expect nearly all your favorite sports and events to be covered.

North Carolina Online Betting FAQ
Take a look at a couple of FAQs. You might find an answer about North Carolina online betting.
Is North Carolina sports betting legal?
Yes, but there’s no physical location for sports bettors to visit just yet, nor are there any smartphone apps or websites on which you can bet. We’re still waiting for two Harrah’s locations to open up in-person sportsbooks by fall 2019.
When will we see NC betting apps come online?
The newly created NC Gaming Commission is studying online sports betting in other states as well as overseeing sports betting in NC. Once they’re finished their study, apps will start releasing. The study is due by February 2020, but we expect their findings to be submitted to North Carolina legislators sooner.
